A mom from Illinois, Eden Strong, is warning parents about the dangers of squirting bath toys after her son Baylor nearly lost his eyesight.
During a bath, Baylor’s eye became irritated, and within hours, it was severely infected with cellulitis, a bacterial infection. It spread quickly, and doctors feared he could lose vision in one eye. Thankfully, his eyes healed after intense treatment.
The cause was a squirting bath toy, which can harbor bacteria since water doesn’t fully drain from them. Eden shared her son’s experience to warn others, and her post has been widely shared.
She urges manufacturers to address this issue and has discarded all squeezable toys from their home.
Parents should be cautious when choosing bath toys to ensure their children’s safety.
